Chrysalis

Sustain and grow your social enterprise

Welcome to Chrysalis

We are delighted to have the support of Glasgow City Council to launch a completely new programme of support for social enterprises. This blended programme combines individual organisation support with cohort based learning and peer support circle.

What is it?

The Chrysalis Programme is a pilot programme designed to support social enterprises emerging from lockdown, to enable you to build stronger, more resilient organisations by delivering a mixture of bespoke and structured support.

Who’s it for?

For this pilot year, Chrysalis is open to individuals with an organisation or the whole organisation. This means that you might choose to nominate different people to work on different aspects depending on their job role, or to involve your board. Or you might have one person take part in everything. We will discuss the options that suits you best on enrolment.

Are we eligible?

You need to be a social enterprise (that is an asset locked organisation) which generated at least 25% of your income from trade pre lockdown. As this programme is funded by Glasgow City Council, you also need to be based in Glasgow, or have significant beneficiaries in that council area.

What’s involved?

This is a substantial programme and will require a significant amount of time for your organisation. In summary:

Each fortnight has a different theme you will work though. This will involve a mixture of activities including:

-          Knowledge based interactive workshops to ensure you understand best practice and how to maximise your activity in the different themes (finance, marketing, planning, managing change)

-          A one to one session with the facilitator to delve into how the workshop content can be applied to your organisation.

-          Peer support sessions to allow you to explore any challenges or opportunities you are currently facing

-          Dedicated Programme Manager

This will run alongside 8 weeks of one to one business support from a CEIS advisor, to help you to make a transformational change in any area of your business. We will agree the outcomes together, and this can be for a particular business area (including any outwith our programme themes) or be more focussed on your organisational or board development. This Business Review that forms part of your induction can help us to narrow down priority areas.

How much time do I have to commit?

Chrysalis is designed to be a cohort based programme and we envision much of the benefit will come from learning alongside your peers, and the same small group of business advisors and support. For this reason, we ask that you only sign up for the programme if you have time.

We would ask you to allow approximately a day a week for the 10 weeks of the programme.

Key Dates

While much of the programme is flexible and your one to one appointments can be scheduled at your convenience, there are some key dates for the group to come together, online initially. These dates are:
